How To Make Almond Milk

Almond Milk Recipe

Yields 5 cups

Almond Milk Ingredients

  • 1 cup raw almonds, soaked overnight in room temperature
  • 1 bowl water (or 1-2 hours in boiling water) for soaking almonds
  • 5 cups bottled distilled water
  • 1/2 vanilla bean, split and scraped
  • 1/8 teaspoon fine sea salt

How To Make Almond Milk

Add your soaked almonds, water, salt and vanilla bean scrapings to a blender on high speed and blend until creamy and smooth. Run for at least 2-3 minutes.

Strain using a nut milk bag, or even easier a piece of clean cheese cloth. Lay the clean cheese cloth over a mixing bowl, pour over the almond milk, and carefully gather the corners and lift up. Then squeeze until all of the liquid is extracted. Discard pulp, or save for adding to baked goods as an added texture.

Transfer milk to a jar or covered bottle and refrigerate. Will keep for up to a few days, though best when fresh. Shake well before using, as it tends to separate.
